• Center for Climate Risk Management (CLIMA)
  The Center for Climate Risk Management analyzes scientific, economic, and ethical questions related to climate change risk management.
• Cooperative Wetlands Center (CWC)
  The Cooperative Wetlands Center's mission is to conduct, facilitate, and coordinate interdisciplinary research, monitoring, and training regarding wetlands and related resources with an emphasis on Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states.
• Earth System Science Center (ESSC)
  ESSC maintains a mission to describe, model, and understand the Earth's climate system.
• Center for Environmental Kinetic Analysis (CEKA)
  CEKA is a jointly funded research and education initiative of the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) focused on environmental kinetics.
  
• Center for Environmental Chemistry and Geochemistry (CECG)
  CECG promotes research and teaching in environmental chemistry and geochemistry
  
• Center for Environmental Informatics (CEI)
  CEI focuses on the development of new and innovative approaches to the creation and dissemination of environmental information resources.
  
• Penn State Ice and Climate Research Center (PSICE)
  The Center for Penn State Ice and Climate Research integrates glaciology, seismology, modeling and climatology.
• Center for Public Policy Research in Environment Energy, and Community
  The Center for Public Policy Research in Environment Energy, and Community is an initiative of the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment, Rock Ethics Institute, Social Science Research Institute, Children, Youth, and Families Consortium, and College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. The goal is to further current policy activities in the social sciences and to develop activities that encourage collaboration, facilitate research, and to inform public policy realms.

Federally Funded Centers

• NE Regional Center (NICCR)
  The National Institute for Climatic Change Research (NICCR) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER). The goal of NICCR is to mobilize university researchers, from all regions of the country, in the support of the climatic change research objectives of BER

• PA Space Grant Consortium
  The PA Space Grant Consortium is part of a national network of Space Grant programs in every state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. It is funded and managed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

EESI Facilities

• Environmental Computing Facility (ECF)
  ECF facilitates and promotes student and faculty usage of the Environmental High Performance Computing Facility.
